Dr. Anthony Dominic Veroni 1923 - 2001 Dr. Anthony D. Veroni, of Moncton, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at the age of 78 years. Born in Guelph, ON on December 6, 1923 he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary E. (Howard) Veroni. He had retired from the Federal Government as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine after 33 years service. Tony was an accomplished pianist having studied for 14 years at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. He was the organist at the Church of Our Lady in Guelph, ON, during which time he was the director of a female choir. Following this time, he moved on and was the organist at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Wolfville, NS and during this time he directed an all mens choir called the Dr. Veroni's Choir, who had been invited to the New York's World Fair on two occasions. Also, Tony was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6, and had participated by visiting veterans living at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital D.V.A. Unit. He is survived by His wife Helen Kathleen (MacDonald) Veroni; daughter, Donna Marie and her husband Donald "Don" Switzer of Countice, ON; two sons, Michael Angelo Veroni of Moncton, NB, and Paul Anthony Veroni and his wife Dr. Susan Burzynski of Kentville, NS; his brother Frank Veroni and his wife Marion of Sauble Beach, ON; also by two grandchildren Lisa and Ryan. There will be a private family service held at The Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with Father Bernie Sloan Officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In Tony's memory, Donations made to New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
