Emma Melanson 1911- 2001 The death of Emma Melanson, widow of Phil Melanson, of Whitney Ave. Moncton occurred on Sunday, December 23rd, 2001 at the Dr. GeorgesL. Dumont Hospital. Born in Cocagne on Nov 23, 1911 she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Fidele LeBlanc. Mrs Melanson had worked in the housekeeping department of The Moncton Hospital and Annex until her retirement in 1969. She attended Notre Dame de Grace Church. She also loved to play bingo. She survived by her daughters, Jeannine Gauvin (Charles) with whom she resided, Claudette Ouellette of Moncton; her sons, Romeo Melanson (Sylvia) of New Waterford, NS and Norman of Moncton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Phil in 1959, and a son Roger in 1985. By request there will not be any visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 11 a.m. in Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel. 1177 Salisbury Rd., Moncton followed by a reception to be held in the family Reception Room of Fair Haven Funeral Home.
