ROGERS - Roxanna Rutherford aged 89 years of High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009 in High Crest Nursing Home, Springhll, surrounded by her extended family. Born in Springhill, she was the daughter of the Late Lewis and Laura (Fullerton) Rogers and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Roxanna had an incredible spark for life. She had great love for her family and friends - she offered a fun and lovable (and occasionally mischievous) manner that will be the hallmark of how we remember her. She had great passion for music, dancing, nature, animals and walking. Roxanna's career was a brisk walk down the hill from McGee Street where she spread her joy to all customers of the Springhill Sears store. The brisk walks have been over for a few years, but we remember her quick and steady pace as a lovely reflection of her spirit.

She is survived by sister in law, Peggy Rogers, Ontario; nieces, Sharon (David) Sheppard, Leslie (Philip) Shand, Joyce (Alan) McCully, Ruth (Shawn) Wolfe, Leslie Rogers; nephews, Richard (Cindy), Brian, Stephen, Mark (Grace), Scott (Kim), Paul (Leslie) Rogers; special friends, Ruth Jewkes and Marion Dill.
Predeceased by brothers, Daniel, Alfred "Al"; sisters, Edith, Hazel; sister in law, Dorothy.

Visitation will be held 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 Monday, February 16, 2009 in A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, from where the Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Burial in Windham Hill Cemetery, Cumb. Co., at a later date. A special thank you to the caring staff of High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill.
