We regret to announce the passing of Eileen Gerrow, age 78 of Sydney Mines, on Friday March 6, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Donovan) Morgan.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Mike) Williams; sons Joseph (Donna), Clarence (Valerie), and Melvin (Crystal), all of Sydney Mines. She is also survived by sisters Millie (Dan) Young, Jean (Bob) McGean, Yvonne ( Doug) Serroul, and brothers Clarence, Carl (Lillian), Wallace (Dorothy), and Morgan, 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion Anthony Thurbide.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Harold Gerrow and sisters Blanche and Eunice.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Gerrow will be in the Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Fr. Hugh MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Following the funeral mass, a reception will be held in the Centenniel Room of the church.
