June Marie Eaton, age 84, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of North Foord St., Stellarton, passed away February 17, 2009 in the Manor.
Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Alexander James and Annie (Connors) MacKenzie.
She was a longtime resident of Stellarton. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church where she was a former member of the choir, youth group leader and looked after the junior choir. June started work at Barkers Grocery in Trenton, she then went on to work at Eaton’s where she later became a manager and then worked part time at both Eaton’s and Simpson Sears. She also worked at Hayman’s Insurance and was lunch supervisor at G.R. Saunders Elementary School for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Art, Stellarton; daughter, Joyce Eaton (Wayne Jordan), Stellarton; grandson, D. Jay MacIntosh (Anna and her son, Matthew), Truro.
She was predeceased by brothers, John MacKenzie and Rev. Roy MacKenzie; sister, Joyce MacNeil
Her remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, from 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Christ Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
