On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, Millie of Whitecourt, Alberta, formerly of Prince Albert, Sask., passed away at the age of 79 years with her two daughters lovingly by her side. Millie will be forever loved and remembered by her daughters, Carol (Dick) Soles of Prince Albert, Sk and Darlene (Jerry) Chartrand of Whitecourt, Alberta; her step-son Stan (Sylvia) Rashbrook of Williams Lake, B.C.; her grand-daughters, Dawn (Mick) Toutant of Drayton Valley, Alberta, Kama Soles of Saskatoon, Sk, Erin Chartrand of Edmonton, Alberta and Ellen Rice of Whitecourt, Alberta; her great grandsons, Brody and Ryley Toutant and Phoenix Rice; her sisters, Blanche Bonneville of Portland, Oregon, Denise (Tuck) Frier, of Broadview, Sk, Carmelle (Ed) Breeze of Regina, Sk and Maxine (Larry) Nicholson of Watrous Sk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Millie was predeceased by her husband George (2000), her sons, Bruce (1981) and Kelly (1987) as well as her parents Emile & Angel Dureault, two brothers George and Louis and one sister Lorraine Sarich. Millie had an exceptional character and those who came into contact with her definitely enjoyed a unique experience. Millie was often referred lovingly as a tough old bird by many as she battled her illness during her final days. A celebration of Millie's life will be held in Whitecourt, at St. Joseph's Church on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. It was Millie's wish that she rest internally with her husband and sons; a memorial service and interment of her ashes will take place in Prince Albert, SK in May. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to Children's Haven or the Prince Albert Safe Shelter for Women.
