The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, of Elmer Matheson, of Highland Avenue, Summerside, aged 89 years. Born in Clyde River, he was the son of the late John and Ada (Hickox) Matheson. Survived by his wife, Gladys Walsh, children, Beverly (Oland) Schofield, Stratford, Shawn (Amanda), Charlottetown, Kellie Doucette, Stratford, Kim (Gary) Keddy, Fredericton, N.B., Terry (Chantal) Sabourin, Fredericton, N.B., Wayne (Valerie), Sudbury, Ont., Sean David, Kelowna, B.C., Dillon, Sudbury, Ont., Bryn, Victoria, B.C., seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, sister, Belle Berrgian, Bethel, brother, Eric (May), Halifax, sisters-in-law, Jenny, Mary and Blanche Matheson, all of Charlottetown, brother-in-law, Herb Stanley, Charlottetown, special niece, Sandra Matheson, Summerside, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son, David, sister, Eleanor Stanley, brothers, Homer, Jack, Major, Millar, Benny and Roddie. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a private funeral service will be held. No visiting hours by personal request. Flowers gratefully declined.
