Dennis Johnson
Dennis passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 16th at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. He was born on September 15th, 1945 in Prince Albert, SK. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Barbara (nee: Simpson) in 1966, he worked at the OK Economy and then United Agencies in the accounting department. They purchased their first business, Welcome Inn Confectionery and operated that for a number of years, then purchased Dent's Shoprite. They stayed in the grocery business until 1985 and then Dennis became co-owner of Writeway Printing. At this time, he also became a member of the Rotary Club and the Optimist Club of Prince Albert. He was the co-owner of Action Printing and was active in the business until ill health forced his retirement in 1998. Dennis had a warm sense of humour and was sure to draw a chuckle from all. Spending time with his family was the highlight of his life and he enjoyed many memorable hours with them at the lake. He also was an avid hockey fan and spent numerous hours watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dennis was a warm, loving husband, father and grandfather and we will miss him dearly!
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Barbara; son, Brent (Jacqueline Deforest) and granddaughter, Cassandra; and his daughter Lisa (Allan Sabuda). His sister, Diane Chesterman of Collingwood, ON and her children: Lynane (Rob) Newton and Taylor and Shelby; Michael (Charla) Chesterman. His mother-in-law: Blanche Moffat. His brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pat (Wally) Kaye - children David (Valerie) and Debbie (Jim) Palmer, Gordon (Shirley) Simpson - children Randy (Val) and Karen, Merle (Norma) Simpson - children Fred (Kim) and Kimberly, his close friend and confidante Donna Bayda and his "special kids" Wade and Brandy; David Simpson - children Taylor and Karley; Pam Johnson - children Neil (Brandi), Keri (Koen) Annaert and Kris.
