On February 14, 2009, Barbara Smith Bowersox, 79, of Bethesda, Maryland, U.S.A., and French River, Prince Edward Island, Canada, passed away. She was the beloved wife of John K. (Jack) Bowersox, devoted mother of Joan (Bowersox) Jurenas and Ann (Bowersox) Gordon; proud grandmother of Eric and Julie Jurenas, Webster, Katie, Sarah and Cameron Gordon; loving sister to Arma Jo Northup and to J. Eugene Smith, who predeceased her; attentive aunt to her nephews and nieces and to their children; and faithful to her friends, her golf partners and her church. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, 3115 P. Street, NW, Washington DC, 20007. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be sent to Georgetown Presbyterian Church at the address listed above.
