Ulysse Poirier

Ulysse Poirier 1931 - 2003 SHEDIAC RIVER, NB - Ulysse Poirier, 71, of the Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Shediac River passed away on Monday, March 17, 2003 at the residence. Born in Shediac River, September 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Aurel Poirier and the late Elizabeth Babineau. Prior to his retirement, he was a carpenter and attended La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue. He was also a member of the Grande-Digue Hunting & Fishing Club. Ulysse is survived by four daughters, Marie Nemeth (John) of Shediac River, Cecile Freiberg (Robert) of Naples, Florida, Murielle Gallant (Raymond), Elise Poirier (Régis Léger) all of Shediac River; three sons, Maurice (Alice), Emile of Shediac River, Gérald (Carole) of Shediac; one sister, Rezeda Poirier of Shediac Bridge; ten grandchildren, Carole, Joanne, Christopher, Joshua, Isabelle, Holly, Lynn, Mathieu, Julie, John Jr. ; and his former wife Ella (Bourque) Poirier of Shediac River. He was predeceased by a sister Géralda Lemenager and a brother Léo Poirier. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 9p.m. and Wednesday from 2p.m. until time of departure at 4:10p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 4:30p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue. Interment in the parish cemetery. In his memory, donations may be made to Le Fonds de Bourses de Grande-Digue or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
