Joseph A. Ryan (Sonny) HALIFAX, NS - Passed away peacefully at age 76, on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, after a courageous struggle with cancer. Proudly a retiree of 34 years with the CNR, Joe was predeceased in 1988 by Huberte (nee Leger), his wife of 33 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his life partner, Gloria Anderson, Halifax; his sister, Fabiola (Bodgie) Jardine (Bill), Miramichi; brothers, James B. Ryan (Gloria), Ottawa, Thaddeus Ryan of Australia; his children, Suzanne Van Huystee (Guss), Anne-Marie Grewal (Paul), Michael, Robert (Joanne) and Terry (Laurie), all of Moncton, Denis (Elaine Campbell) of Fredericton and Patti Chmelyk (Stan) of Toronto; and 15 grandchildren. As per his specific request, there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Moncton, Monday, March 24, 2003 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
