Marjorie C. Rees-Potter
Marjorie (Morgan) Rees-Potter 1904-2003 SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Marjorie C. Rees-Potter, age 99, of Sackville, N.B. occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, N.B., following a brief illness. Born on January 9, 1904 in WestonUnder-Penyard, England, she was the daughter of the late Edward Charles and Eleanor (Brown) Morgan. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid field hockey player and an all-around athlete in her youth. She was a key employee at a munitions factory in England at the start of World War II, eventually following her husband to New York for his work with Cunard Steamship Line. Marjorie was a leading and very active member in the women's groups in her churches while living in New York, Montreal and Sackville. In Sackville, she was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and was Past President of St. Paul's Alter Guild. Marjorie was the genesis behind the 1996 Renewing St. Paul's Project. Marjorie and Norman enjoyed participating in Mount Allison University's Foreign Student Exchange Program. Marjorie also worked with the Boy Scouts as a den mother and the Parent Teachers Association in New York. She loved antiques, furniture refinishing, gardening and was a wonderful hostess. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Barbara Campbell of Sackville, N.B.; her son, David (Carolyn) Rees-Potter of Ottawa, Ontario; two grandchildren, Erin Morgan and Bryan Rees Campbell of Sackville, N.B.; and her great friend and recent caregiver Ghayle (Austin) Ibbitson of Sackville, N.B. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Captain Norman ReesPotter, in 1996; one sister, Eleanor; one brother, Teddy; and her son-inlaw, William Campbell. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from Campbell's on Sunday, March 25, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's Anglican Church on Monday, March 26, 2003 at 11 am with Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the Sackville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church Building Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
