Stephen Hugo Loch HALIFAX, NS - On Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Fairview Villa, in his 91st year, Stephen Hugo Loch of Fairview Villa, Halifax, NS and formerly of Silver Lady Lane, North Bay, ON, passed away. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Smith) Loch and dear father of John (Martha) of Bedford, N.S. and Michael (Merlyn) of Edmonton, AB; grandfather of Greg, Andrew, Jason, Corey, Erik. Stephen is survived by his sister, Elma and brother John (Audrey) of Toronto. Stephen was born in Toronto. He traveled the rails during the Depression and found work in Nakina, Ontario. He then joined the RCAF before WW II and remained with the RCAF until he retired in 1965 in North Bay, ON. Stephen was a self educated naturalist, biologist, historian and political scientist. His keen interest in nature provided his sons with a tremendous love for the outdoors. Steve built large smooth outdoor rinks for Air Force brats in Winnipeg in the 50's while, from the 60's on, his handyman and gardening skills provided a beautiful home for his wife, children and grandchildren at their beloved home on Silver Lady Lane. All will miss Stephen's gentle, friendly approach and his integrity. Donations may be made to UNICEF. Funeral arrangements in care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home (2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, N.S.
