Aris Gerritt Hazeleger, 63, Linacy, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, February 18, 2009.
Born in Ede, Holland, he was a son of the late Aart and Clasina (Kwakernaak) Hazeleger.
He immigrated to Canada in 1970 and had worked at Michelin Tire for the past 31 years. Aris was an avid soccer fan.
Surviving are his companion of 15 years, Evelyn MacLaren; daughters, Clasina (Art) MacKinnon, Melanie (Terry) MacIssac, Porters Lake; Janine Lahti, Trenton; son, Gerrit, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Colby, Connor, Haley and Courtney; Evelyn’s children: Debby (Greg) Grant, Newmarket, Ont.; Ed (Kim) MacLaren, Dave (Tammy) MacLaren, New Glasgow; and Evelyn’s seven grandchildren; sisters: Siney, Hennie, Holland; brothers: Gijs, Marius and Gert, Holland; a niece and three nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Gysbertus Alexander Hazeleger; two sisters and a brother.
The family will receive visitors 2-5 p.m. Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating.
