Mary E.(Gunn) Smallwood MAPLE GLEN, NB - Mary E.(Gunn) Smallwood, age 92, of Maple Glen, NB passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Maple Glen, NB, she was the only daughter of the late Phineas and Caroline (Petrie) Gunn. After Mary's parents died, she moved to the United States where she trained as a nurse and worked at the Kallman Home for Children in Brooklyn, N.Y. Later she moved back to Canada where she was employed by Physicians Services Inc. in Toronto for 13 years. After retiring, Mary and her husband Ernest moved home to Maple Glen, NB. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her two brothers, Harrison and Kenneth. Mary will be greatly missed by her brother, Douglas and his wife Bertha, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins here and in the U.S. Mary E. Smallwood is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 31, 2003 at 2 p.m. from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Gordon Hazelwood and Mr. Charles O'Regan officiating.
