Stanley Whalen MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Stanley Whalen, 90, husband of the late Loretta (Gardiner) Whalen (1992), of Sutton Rd., Nelson, Miramichi, NB, passed away on March 31, 2003 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Chelmsford, NB he was the son of the late William J. Whalen and Mary McLeod. He worked for the Canadian National Railway for 33 yrs and was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by one daughter, Ann Doran (John), Miramichi; two sons, Uriel (Connie), Bathurst, Bill (Pat) of Nelson, Miramichi; five grandsons, Stephen Whalen (Wendy), Patrick Whalen, Greg Whalen (Susan), Shawn Doran, Kevin Doran (Annette Noel); and four granddaughters, Mary Whalen, Barbara Sweeney (Michel), Elizabeth Killoran (Barry) and Catherine Aubé; and eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Catherine Aubé (1996); brothers, Wilfred Whalen, Harold Whalen, Emmet Whalen; sister, Catherine (Rene) Quinlan, Alice Whalen. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Thursday Evening from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 8, 2003 at 11:00am. Interment, Malcolm Cemetery, Nelson, Miramichi, NB.
