Eugene A. Gaynes SALISBURY, NB - Eugene Alfred Gaynes, 86, of Horsman Street, Salisbury passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003 at The Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born at Irishtown he was the last surviving member of the late Robert and Belzmaine (LeBlanc) Gaynes family. Eugene was a Veteran of the Second World War having served with the N.B. Rangers and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 31, Salisbury. He was a retired custodian with the former School District #16, Salisbury and attended St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Salisbury. Survived by his beloved wife of over 59 years, Albertine (Tena) (Levigne); daughters, Sandra Roberts (Vernon) of Salisbury, Wanda Turner (Todd) of Second North River; sons, Eugene of Toronto, Gerald (Kim) and Harold of Salisbury, Joe of Moncton; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Emma Roberts, Nellie Killam; brothers, William, Robert and Wilfred. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (3724800) with visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9p.m. The Salisbury Legion will conduct a memorial service at the Funeral Home Tuesday at 7 p.m,. and there will be parish prayers at 8:30 p.m.. The Funeral will be Wednesday April 9 at 11 a.m. from St Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Salisbury with Rev. Jeff Doucette officiating.
