Margaret Marion Keirstead
Margaret Marion Keirstead 1927-2003 WATERSIDE, NB - Margaret Marion Keirstead, 75, of Waterside passed away on April 20,2003 at The Moncton Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Riverside on May 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Hanford and Marion (Colpitts) Keirstead. Margaret was a very active member of the St. Stephen's United Church serving as an Elder, she taught Sunday School for many years and was also a member of the United Church Women. She was a member of the Alma Senior Citizens which she was past secretary and treasurer, she belonged to the Winston Churchill Chapter # 19, Order of the Eastern Star. Margaret was a very valuable person to the community she was a representative for the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation and looked after the memorials for the church, whenever you needed anything you called Margaret. She was a very special lady who will be missed by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her devoted best friend and companion, Lloyd Mullins and by his family who thought the world of Margaret; two sisters-in-law Pauline Keirstead of Alma and Clara Keirstead of Riverside-Albert; special cousin, Thelma Keirstead of Alma and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Aubrey, Clarke and Robert. The remains will be resting at the St. Stephen's United Church, Alma with visitation on Tuesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held from the St. Stephen's United Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 2pm with Rev. Val Chongva Officiating. Internment will be held in the Alma United Cemetery, Alma. Donations to the St. Stephen's United Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
