SELLINGER - It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of Harry Frank Sellinger, beloved husband of Stella Sellinger, at the Swift Current Care Centre on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Harry was the father of Raymond Sellinger (Donna) and MaryLynn Kemp; grandfather to Dionne Sellinger, Lacey Sellinger, Gina Hamill (Gavin), Robert Kemp (Andrianne) and Erin Santos (Toni). Harry was great-grandfather to Isabella and Lucas Santos and Jackson Hamill. He is survived by his brothers, Philip, Peter (Donna), John (Cecile), Leo (Iona); and sisters, Rose and Margaret (Keith). He was predeceased by his parents, Magdelina and Meinrod Sellinger; his sister Tina Kuss; brother Tony Sellinger; brother-in-law Adam Kuss; and sister-in-law Mary Sellinger. Harry was born on June 10, 1920, at Fox Valley, SK. He was a hard worker. At 14, he started working as a farm hand and at age 26, he began his career as a grain buyer. He was employed by the Federal Grain and Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 40 years. Harry worked in various small towns in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, finally settling in Swift Current in 1966. Harry was a jack of all trades and loved the challenge of fixing things that others thought were beyond repair. In his retirement years, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, walking, playing cards and having coffee with his friends. He was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church. Harry was a wonderful father and treasured spending time with his grandchildren. The family is especially thankful to the staff of the Swift Current Care Centre where he spent his last years. Although Harry will be deeply missed, his family is comforted by the knowledge that he is finally home. A prayer vigil was held Sunday evening February 1st at 7:00 pm and the funeral mass was held on Monday, February 2nd at 11:00 A.M. at The Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan or Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church Building Fund.
