Keith Emerson Black

Keith Emerson Black 1930 - 2003 ALMA, NB - Keith Emerson Black, 72, of Alma passed away on April 24, 2003 at The Moncton Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Alma on August 31, 1930 he was the son of the late Edward and Mabel (McKee) Black. Keith worked for the Department of Transportation until 1960 then went to work for the Fundy National Park until 1965. He later was self employed where he owned and operated a service station and also had his own gravel truck. He attended the St. Stephen's United Church, was a member of the Alma Seniors Club and also attended the Care Program in Alma where he enjoyed the outings very much. Keith was also a lifetime member of the Albert P.C. Association. Above all things he was a family man. He was an avid card player who took great pride in teaching his grandchildren how to play, he also enjoyed a good game of crokinole. He was also known for his arm wrestles with all the boys to see if anyone could beat him. He was a special man who loved time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife Helen (Elliott) Black; three daughters, Beverly Thibodeau (Paul) of Burton, Wanda Upham (Lynn) of Shepody, Sharron Arbeau (Royce) of Hillsborough; a son, Kenneth Black (Joanne) of Hillsborough; two sisters, Matilda Barbour of Harvey, Marie Flett of BC; a brother, Victor Black (Shirley) of Alma; nine grandchildren, Dean, Jeffery, Adam, Andrew, Heidi, Ellen Rae, Royce, Robert and Kara Lee; a step granddaughter, Marika and step great granddaughter, Lindsay. Keith will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Roger; four brothers, Tracy, Clair, Russell and Arthur; two sisters, Lois and Audrey. The remains will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held from the St. Stephen's United Church, Alma on Sunday, April 27, 2003 at 4pm with Rev. Val Chongva officiating. Internment will be held in the Alma United Cemetery, Alma at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Kidney Foundation, the Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
