Joseph Hartt Ross MIRAMICHI, NB - Joseph Hartt Ross, 85, of Loggieville, NB passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 1, 2003. Born in Loggieville, NB on June 5, 1917 the son of the late Ernest A. Ross and Grace (Russell) Ross. He was the last surviving member of the immediate family. Survived by his cherished wife of 63 years and best friend Margaret (Bessie) MacDonald Ross; sons, Don (Cheryl), Joe (Flora), Stephen (Lydia), Chris (Darlene) all of Loggieville; daughters, Grace (Jim) Davin of Syracuse, New York, Joan (Mike) Procter of Nepen, Ontario, Pat (Marc) Gauthier of Loggieville, Darlene (Bill) McDonald of Wilmot, NS, Mary (Mike) Mott of Loggieville, and Shannon (Justin) Welborn, Calgary, Alta; 27 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son Robert; his parents; brothers, Melvin, Campbell, Jack and Ernest; sisters, Mina Livingston, Ann Creaghan and Dorothy O'Kane. A devoted family man that put his faith in God and his church, a lifetime member of the St Andrew's Roman Catholic Parish of Loggieville, an active member of the Holy Name Society and in later years the Roman Catholic Parish Council, a graduate of Loggieville School in 1934 and of St Thomas Academy in 1938, enjoyed success in track and field and rugby, worked 35 years as Factory and Plant Managers for A & R Loggie Co. and the W.S. Loggie Co. before retiring for the Supply Department at CFB Chatham, served as village clerk in Loggieville for 15 years, was executive member of 1967 Centennial Celebration, one of the founders of the Centennial Park Commission, The Logieville Recreation Council, the Loggieville Softball Program, Executive member of the Loggieville Softball Bisons Club and likewise with the St. Mary's Epiphany Prayer Group. Mr. Joseph Hartt Ross will rest at Maher's Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Loggieville at 11:00 am on Monday, May 5, 2003.
