Daniel Edward "Don" McArdle BATHURST, NB - Daniel Edward "Don" McArdle, of Kent Street in Bathurst, husband of Maymay McArdle, died at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Wednesday, 7th of May, 2003 at the age of 74. Born in Bathurst, NB, he was the son of the late Frank P. and Bridget (McGinnis) McArdle. Don owned and operated a plumbing and heating contracting business in Bathurst for many years. He was very active in the local political scene. An avid sports enthusiast, Don enjoyed curling, and he also sponsored local softball teams. Besides his wife, the former Maymay Breau of Bathurst, he is survived by one daughter, Donna McArdle (David Fallon) of Ottawa, ON; one son, James McArdle (Noel Soehn) of Calgary AB; two brothers, Ralph (Louise) McArdle of Bathurst, NB, Harold (Babs) of Sydney NS; three sisters, Kathleen (John O'Shaunessy) of Weymouth, Mass USA ,Mary (Eddie Frisella) of Manchester, New Hamphire USA, Theresa Northrup of Columbus, Georgia, USA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Jack and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, James, Charles, Temple; and a sister, Eva. The body is resting at Elhatton Funeral Home 187 St.George Street in Bathurst after 2 p.m. Thursday 8th May 2003. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 9th May at 4 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Avenue in Bathurst, NB.
