J. Manning Steeves 1912 - 2003 The death of J. Manning Steeves, 91, occurred at the Lakeview Manor, Riverview, on Sunday, June 8th, 2003. Born in Dawson Settlement on February 21, 1912, he was the son of the late Roy and Bessie (Jonah) Steeves. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces. Manning was a retired engineer with the CNR and a member of the Salvation Army Moncton Citadel. He is survived buy his daughter, Pauline Mayes (Stanley) of Moncton; a son, Maj. Robert Zwicker (Keitha) of Peterborough ON; a sister, Laura Blondin of Delaware, five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Lottie (Hebb) Steeves in 1999; a sister, Josephine Collier and brothers, Vincent, Jack, and Harold. With respect to Manning's wishes there will be no visitation prior to the Funeral Service to be conducted by Capt. Sandra Stokes in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10th, at 2:00 PM. Donations in memory of Manning, may be made to the Salvation Army Memorial Building Fund.
