Hazel Wheeler SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Hazel Wheeler of Sackville, age 91, occurred at her home on Wednesday, June 25, 2003. Born in Upper Corner, NB, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Ida (Brown) McElroy. Hazel was a member of the Sackville United Church, the United Church Women, the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the I.O.D.E Fort Beausejour Chapter. For many years Hazel worked at Mount Allison University. She will be sadly missed by her son, Raymond (Jennifer) of Oakville, ON, and her daughter Norma (Peter) Ellis of Wolfville, NS; two step-grandchildren, Richard (Dawn Edlund) Ellis and Rowena Ellis both of Ottawa; a sister Grace Secord, Lower Mill Stream, NB; brotherin-law, Howard (Margaret) Wheeler of Sackville; sister-in-law, Margaret Wheeler, Dalhousie, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband James, she is predeceased by her brother, Stanley McElroy and sister Doris McElroy. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300). Visiting hours will take place on Friday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.
