Irene Mary Margaret Carruthers (Creighton) MIRAMICHI, NB - Irene Mary Margaret Carruthers (Creighton), widow of Walter Carruthers of MacDonald Road, Miramichi passed away Wednesday morning July 9, 2003 at Miramichi Regional Hospital following a brief illness, at the age of 81. Born in Millbank, NB, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Eva (Beek) Creighton. She was a retired switch board operator at Miramichi Hospital. She was a member of Bethel United Church, Millbank, former member of U.C.W., former member of Orange Lodge. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Jean McKiel (Brian) of Quispamsis; one son, Wayne (Joyce) of Miramichi; three brothers, William Creighton of Miramichi, James (Jim) Creighton of Miramichi, George Creighton of Saint John; five grandchildren, Sonya Sickles, Jamie Carruthers, Jayne Carruthers, Shelly and Sean McKiel, Duke (Zeus); three great grandchildren, Amber, Krysta and Kendra Lee. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Walter in 1977. Mrs Irene Carruthers is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi with visitation this evening from 7 to 9 and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 2 pm from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Feltmate officiating. Burial to follow in Moorefield Cemetery.
