Leah Taylor
Passed peacefully away after a short illness, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in St. John's, in the presence of relatives & friends, Leah Whatley Taylor, spinster, aged 84 years, of Belleoram, Fortune Bay. Predeceased by her parents, Bertha and Philip Taylor, her brother Hulan (2002), and her sister Phyllis (2005). Leah was a teacher during her working life, including time at Bishop Spencer College, St. John's, and St. Lawrence School, Belleoram. Left to mourn are many cousins, relatives, and friends throughout Canada and the United States. Those who helped Leah these past several years, especially in Belleoram, are too numerous to mention, but a special thank you to Winetta Poole, Sharon (Taylor) Hennigar, Frank and Lucy Dodge, Frank Dodge Jr., Terry and Margaret Leights, Lucy Poole, Marion Evans, and Beverly May, all of, or previously of, Belleoram. Special thanks are extended to the doctors and nurses who cared for Leah at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, and the Central Newfoundland Hospital at Grand Falls and also to Rev. Fr. Keeping, Hospital Chaplin. Funeral arrangements are being taken care of by Spencer's Funeral Home, Hr. Breton. Leah will be waked at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Belleoram, from late Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Her funeral will take place on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., with interment at the Anglican Cemetery in Belleoram.
