Arthur DeVarennes Arthur DeVarennes, 90, of Résidence du Marais, Dieppe, formerly of Belmont Street, Moncton, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born November 25, 1912 in SaintPaul, NB, he was the son of the late James, and Marieanne (Aucoin) DeVarennes. He was employed with CNR before his retirement following 45 years service, and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6468. He is survived by his wife, Bertha (White) DeVarennes; two daughters, Patsy Gachie (Samuel) of Kenya, Elizabeth Hallman (Sonny) of Fredericton; four sons, Normand (Maria) of GrandeDigue, Gérald (Corinne) of Dieppe, Harold (Frances), and Raymond both of Moncton; a brother, Gérald (Mary) of Moncton; 13 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. He is predeceased by an infant sister, Stella, and an infant brother, Émile. Remains resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, Monday from 9 AM until time of departure (9:45). The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM Monday, August 18, 2003 at Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. The Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, will hold a prayer service at 7:30 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
