Antoine Joseph Melanson
Antoine Joseph Melanson 1909-2003 Antoine J. Melanson, of The Foyer St. Antoine, and formerly of Moncton, passed away at The Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at the age of 93 years. Born in St. Antoine, N.B. on October 17, 1909, he was the son of the Late Francois and Zita (Allain) Melanson. He was retired from the Canadian National Railways with 35 years service as a carmen. He was a member of L'Assomption Cathedral. He is survived by his daughter Irene (Norman) Richard; sons, Paul, Raymond and Leo (Kim), all of Moncton; brothers, Clarence (Simone) of Mass, USA, John (Aline) of Gardiner, USA, Joseph (Corinne) of Cocagne, and Ernest of Moncton; sisters, Zelie LeBlanc of St. Antoine, Leona (Antoine) Robichaud of St. Marie, and Leda (Lionel) Maillets of St. Antoine; nine grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Florida Arsenault; and sisters Yvonne Bastarache, and Helene Robichaud. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 from 7-9pm and Wednesday, August 27, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral mass will be held at L'Assomption Cathedral on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at 10:30am with Fr. Yvon Cormier officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Antoine's memory, donations made to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
