Joyce Coates SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Joyce V. Coates, age 90, of Sackville, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, October 8, 2003. Born in 1913 in Rainhill, Lancashire, England, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Edith (Jeffries-Davis) Rogers, and immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1929. They settled in Baie Verte, New Brunswick. Upon her marriage to William O. Coates in 1935, she moved to Jolicure, NB and lived there for all her married life. She was a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church, Mount Whatley. She is survived by two sons, John (Robyn) of Fredericton and Bruce (Genie) of Point de Bute; one daughter, Ruth (Martin) Linden of Miramichi, NB; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Eileen Moir of Sackville, and Cicely (Douglas) Stack of Oxford, NS; and one brother, Leonard (Olga) Rogers of Winnipeg, MN. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1999; and two grandchildren. The remains resting at Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB, (364-1300). There will be no visitation by request of the family. The funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Mount Whatley, NB, Father Rufus Onyewuchi officiating.
