Fred S. Armour

Fred S. Armour 1934-2003 Fred S. Armour, 69, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, September 29, 2003 following a long battle with cancer. Born in Taylor Village, NB on March 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Everett F. and Dorothy M. (Snowdon) Armour. A graduate of Moncton High School, he worked with Northern Electric, Goodyear Tire and was manager of Asbestonos Corporation before forming his own business, Down East Automotive Sales Ltd. as a manufacturers agent and he had a long career in the automotive field. Fred was a member of Wesley Memorial United Church, the Wesley Memorial Mens Club and the North West Commercial Travellers Association from which he just recently received his 40 year award pin. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth A. (Moore) Armour; sons, Jeffry Armour (Pauline) of Smithville, ON, Tim Armour of Toronto and Steven Armour of Moncton; two granddaughters, Marlee and Hayley Armour of Smithville, ON; sister, E. Joyce Sherwood (George) of Kelowna, BC; twin brother, Charles A. Armour (Hedy) of Halifax, NS; and by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Wesley Memorial United Church, St. George and Cameron Street, in Moncton, Friday, October 24, 2003 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends in the church hall immediately following the funeral. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Wesley Memorial United Church Fund would be appreciated by Fred's family.
