Mabelle Black CHERRYVALE, NB - Mabelle Black of Cherryvale, New Brunswick, age 92, passed away on November 4, 2003, at The Moncton Hospital. Born July 19, 1911 at Hunters Home, NB, she was a daughter of the late George Stanley Damery and Effie Blanche Kierstead. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by seven daughters, Loretta Beck (James) of Cherryvale, Myrtle Killam (John) of Petitcodiac, Roberta Moss (Harold) of Havelock, Rilla Moss (Donald) of Cherryvale, Leta Beal (Gurney) of Salisbury, Linda Constantine (Harold) of Havelock, Alma Maxwell (Wendell) of Moncton; two sons, Stanley (Glenna) of Coles Island and Joseph (Shirley) of Cherryvale. 30 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ottie Black; a grandson, Marty Moss; granddaughter Joyce Beck; three sisters, Katie, Bessie and Bertha; two brothers, Thomas and Charles; stepsons, Harold Black and Essley Black; stepdaughter, Eva Jackson; and infant daughter, Jean. She will be sadly missed by her companion, Peanut the dog. Mabelle was a life long member of the community and enjoyed hunting, gardening, knitting, quilting and cooking. The remains are resting at Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, N.B., with visiting hours on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held from the New Canaan United Baptist Church on Friday, November 7, 2003 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Wayne Ward officiating.
