St. Clair J. Fisher 1937 - 2003 The death of St. Clair J. Fisher, of Riverview, occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, December 15, 2003 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Ft. Augustus, PE, he was the son of the late Joseph A. Fisher and the late Clare MacLellan. He moved to Peake's, PE as a child, where he received his elementary education and then graduated from St. Dunstan's University (now UPEI). He had been employed with CO-OP Atlantic, Merchandise Division, with 44 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Riverview, where he served as a lector and was a member of the recycling team. He was also a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Bernard's Parish for over 40 years, serving in every capacity. He was a lay communication minister to shut-ins of that parish. Clair enjoyed gardening, travelling, summer weekends in Caissie Cape, and working on his daughter and son-in-law's farm in Alberta. Always ready and willing to help anyone in need, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Adeline (nee Lagace); and three daughters, Lorna Tollefson (Edwin) of Valleyview, Alberta, AnneMarie Richard (Mike) of Lakeville, and Kelly Fisher of Halifax; five grandchildren, Shayna-Marie, Tamara and Dylan Tollefson, Denis and Danielle Richard. He is also survived by brothers, Amos Dunphy (Cecilia) of Ashern, Man., St. Clair Dunphy (Mary) of Morell, PE, Tom Dunphy (Marion) of Donaldston, PE, and Brendan Dunphy (Phyllis) of Calgary; a sister-in-law, Stella Dunphy of Charlottetown; and a special cousin, Imelda Moran of Braintree, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, John and Rev. MSGR. Peter Dunphy; and by a sister, Sr. Janet Dunphy, C.N.D. Resting at The Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Prayer Vigil and sharing of memories of Clair will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 8:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 11:00 am with Father Jeff Doucette officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery. In Clair's memory, donations made to The Immaculate Heart of Mary Building Fund or to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Oncology Unit would be appreciated by his family.
