Claude Rupert Jones 1921 - 2003 The death of Claude Rupert Jones, husband of the late Edna May Jones, occurred at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Saturday, December 27th, 2003. Born March 1, 1921 in Grangeville, Kent County, New Brunswick to the late Rupert and Beulah (nee Colpitts) Jones. Upon returning home in January of 1946 from World War II he picked up his trade as a carpenter which he continued until his health failed. He lived for a short time in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. He then left for Ontario where he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Once he became reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Edna, he then moved to the United States. They settled in Maine where he built numerous log homes of which he was very proud. Here the family was always greeted with a hug and lots of time spent playing darts, cards and admiring the great wilderness that surrounded their own log home, which they built together. Claude is survived by his children, Susan Pye of Summerside,PEI, Douglas Jones of Moncton, NB, Hudson Jones of North Carolina, Claude Jr. Jones and Lloyd Jones both of Stratford, ON; step-children, Janet Charette (James) of Fort Kent, ME, Joyce LaRosa (Joseph) of Haverhill, Mass., Charles Goggin (Cheryl) of Frenchville, ME, Robert Goggin (Jeanne) of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph Balukas (Cindy) of Haverhill, Mass., Paul Balukas (Cindy) of Kingston, NH; brother, Don Jones (Ruth) of Grangeville, NB; sisters, Irma Trites (Reg) of Moncton,NB, Jean Knowlton of Saint John, NB; sisters-in-law, Mildred Jones of Fredericton, NB, Olive Jones of Saint John, NB, Evelyn Jones of Petticodiac, NB, and Pearl MacPherson of Riverview, NB; many grandchildren; great-grand children as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his sister, Elsie Douthwright and brothers, Lloyd, Clifford, Frank, Norman and Earl. Visiting will be at Fair Haven Funeral Home (852-3530), 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, on Tuesday December 30, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be at 11am on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 with a reception to follow in the Family Reception Room of the funeral home.
