Douglas Alexander Sutherland 1940 - 2003 Douglas A. Sutherland, 63, husband of Jeannette, of Moncton passed away at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, December 31, 2003. Born on August 23, 1940 in NewGlasgow, NS, he was the son of the late Isaac and Jessie (Waugh) Sutherland. He was retired from Modern Enterprises where he worked for 37 years. He was a very active and honored member of the Moncton Lions Club for over 35 years where he received numerous prestigious awards and certificates of appreciation for his dedication in Lionism. He enjoyed spending quiet time at his camp, fishing, and was an avid golfer both here and in Myrtle Beach, SC where he enjoyed spending his winters. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jeannette (Hebert) Sutherland; three daughters, Donna (Chris) Courteau of Memramcook, Diane (Steward Hum) Sutherland of Halifax, NS and Debbie (Guy) LeBlanc of Moncton; five grandchildren, Andrew, Melissa, Stephanie, Sonya and Samuel; one brother, Aubrey (Phil) Sutherland of Halifax, NS; a sister, Helen (Bob) Lorimer of Fort Saskatchewan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret and two brothers Jack and Donald. Visitation with the family will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home (8523530), 1177 Salisbury Road Moncton on Sunday, January 4th, 2004 from 2 to 4 pm. Memorial service will be held Sunday at 4 pm in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. Followed by a reception in the Family Reception Room of the funeral home.
