George E. Jamieson

George E. Jamieson FREDERICTON, NB - George E. Jamieson of Broad Street, Fredericton, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. George was born on July 5, 1942, at Moncton, New Brunswick, the son of the late Edward (Ned) and Mary (MacInnes) Jamieson. George is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Lucille (Cormier) Jamieson, originally of Dieppe, NB; as well as his only daughter, Jennifer Mary Lynn and her husband, Danny Pendleton, and their children Madison (age 4) and David-Daniel (age 2), all of Moncton. George is also survived by one sister, Jill Clifford and her husband Fred of Moncton; as well as nephews Matthew of Moncton and Stephen of Grand Falls, NB. George was predeceased by his only son, David George Edward, whose life was sadly claimed by childhood illness at age 16 in November, 1984. George's sudden death leaves a host of friends and acquaintances throughout the province in shock. George was widely known as a result of both his employment and sporting interests. He was a most congenial and competent sales representative for Kraft Foods for 32 years and Atlantic Lottery Corporation for 7 years. George was a very avid golfer, fly fisherman, and birddog enthusiast. In his school days, George enjoyed considerable success, both provincially and nationally, in competitive curling. Particularly, throughout the 70's, 80's, and early 90's, George was a fixture at the Crabbe Mountain ski hill, renowned for his capable instruction of all beginners, and known fondly to all as "Uncle George". George would have dearly loved to introduce his grandchildren Madison and David-Daniel to his immense love for the outdoors in his ever kind and gentle manner. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2004 from the Brunswick Street Baptist Church, Fredericton. Interment will take place at a later date in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
