Phyllis (Fawcett) Petritis O'Brien HOCKLEY, TX - Phyllis (Fawcett) Petritis O'Brien, 71, of Hockley, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2004. The daughter of the late Andrew L. Fawcett and late Dorothy C. (Plaisted) Fawcett, Phyllis was born July 31, 1932 in Waltham, MA. She was raised in the Watertown area and resided in Norwood, Lincoln and Brookline, MA and Stratham, NH before relocating to South Yarmouth, Cape Cod, MA, where she lived for 20 years. In 2002, she moved to Hockley, Texas to share a loving home with her oldest daughter, son-inlaw and 10 grandchildren. A graduate of Watertown High School class of 1950 and the Cambridge Secretarial School, Mrs. O'Brien retired in 2001 from the Marshalls Department Store of Dennis, MA. Phyllis created many beautiful quilts, knitted garments and cross-stitch designs over the years. She also enjoyed reading, going to the movies, crossword puzzles, music, shopping, and delighted in each and every one of her 13 grandchildren who knew her simply as their "Danda". She was preceded in death by her first husband of 11 years, Peter N. Petritis. She leaves to cherish her memory, brother, George Phillip Fawcett and his wife, Pat Brault; sister, D. Fay (Fawcett) McMahon; daughter, Tina (Petritis) Franklin and her husband Rev. Gene Franklin and their ten children; son, Paul Petritis and his wife Hope O'Shaughnessy; and daughter Pamela, (Petritis) Wentworth, her husband Jack Wentworth and their three children.
