Stanley Edward Wood

Stanley Edward Wood 1921 - 2004 The death of Stanley Edward Wood, 82 years, husband of Doris (Nauss) Wood, of Moncton occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, January 20, 2004. Born in Kentville, NS, he was the son of the late Walter and Florence (Rashleigh) Wood. A veteran of the Second World War, he served overseas with the Canadian Army. He had been employed with Firestone until his retirement. Mr. Wood was also a member of St George's Anglican Church, Moncton, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and for many years he was a Boy Scout Leader and instructor in the Boy Scout Rifle Program, member of the BiCentennial Skating Club and active with the Canadian Mental Health Campaign. In addition to his wife, Doris, he is survived by four sons, Dave (Paula) of Moncton, Steve (Judy) of Beaverbank, NS, Rick (Monique) of Oakville, ON and Tim (Judy) of Nepean, ON; one brother, Dick (Gloria) of Kentville, NS; two sisters, Gwen (Bernard) Robbins of Tiverton, NS and Frances Wood of New Minas, NS as well as nine grandchildren Shawn, Cassandra, Amy, Ryan, Natalie, Victoria, Gillian, Melissa and Shane; two step-grandchildren, Colleen Leite and Travis Leite; and several nieces and nephews. By request there will not be any visiting hours at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 23rd at 2pm at St. George's Anglican Church, Queen Street, Moncton followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined however donations in Mr. Wood's memory maybe made to the memorial of the donor's choice.
