Lois Evelyn McPherson 1924 - 2004 INDIAN MOUNTAIN, NB - Lois McPherson, wife of David R., of Indian Mountain died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 31, 2004 after a prolonged illness, and is now free from her wheelchair to walk with Jesus. Born in Elgin, NB on November 25, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Idella (Killam) Smith. A graduate of the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing, she nursed for several years at The Moncton Hospital and specialized in Pediatrics. Later she attended Oulton's Business College and partnered in the family business, Mountain Construction. Lois' creativity showed in her poetry, painting, playing the guitar and rug hooking; she also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and traveling, however, her real passion was caring for her family. She was very active in the community, volunteering her time with home and school associations as well as the Lutes Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to her devoted husband of 54 years; she is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Don MacAulay) of Moncton, Beverley (Jack Christie), Peggy (Gary Byers); son, David G. (Kim MacLeod) all of Lutes Mountain; and sister, Jean Adsett of Victoria, BC; as well as nine grandchildren, Diane and Nancy Gillespie, Amanda and Alexander (Sandy) Christie, Patrick and Jessica Byers, Erin, David D. and Heather McPherson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Russell, Pat, Leroy, Sherman, Aubrey, Clyde, Lloyd and Earl; infant brother, Edwin and two sisters, Elizabeth and Pearl. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home (852-3530), 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, with visiting hours on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 2 pm in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home followed immediately by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will be in Birchill Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Lois' memory may be made to the Birchill Cemetery or the memorial of the donor's choice. www.fairhavenfh.com
