Mr. James Wright of Paddockwood, SK passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital. Jim was born April 25, 1918 in Regina and raised on the family farm in Paddockwood. He served in the Second World War and while serving overseas met his wife Mary. They returned to the Paddockwood area where they farmed and raised 5 children. Jim worked at Woodland Enterprises until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed spending his leisure time outdoors, golfing with friends, cross-country skiing with his grandchildren, or just relaxing on the deck. Many of his hours were spent in his shop woodworking, making various items for family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a fan of all television sports, especially the Toronto Blue Jays. Jim was predeceased by his parents Charles and Lillian; his son Brian (Bertha); his sisters Myrtle, Edith, Lillian and Cora. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife Mary; his family Margaret (Michael), Denis (Beatrice), Maureen (Ron) and Wayne; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his sister Charlotte, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Due to his wishes there will be a Graveside Service held at a later date at the Paddockwood Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200- 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4.
