Rita Theresa Davison age 90 of Amherst passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Amelia (Gaudet) Landry. Rita was mother and houswife who dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchild. She had a passion for travelling, a wonderful sense of humour. Rita was a Red Hatter and loved attending Red Hat gatherings where ever they were. Rita a devout Roman Catholic and member of St. Charles/Holy Family Parish. She was a wonderful person and will be very sadly missed by her family, her dog Baxter and all who knew her. Rita is survived by three daughters Marie Rita (George) Damery of Amherst, Anne (Trevor) Lawless of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Margaret (Gerald) Harburn of Carberry, Manitoba; seven sons Leonard (Bonnie) Davison of Martin's River, NS, Bob (Ida) and Michael (Karen) both of Amherst, Richard (Dale) of Cambridge, ON, Larry (Marilyn) of Niagara Falls, ON, Gary of Dartmouth and David (Buffy) of Oromocto, NB, 40 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, one sister Isabell Tower of Amherst, one brother Ernest Landry of Amherst and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard in 1991, infant daughter Elizabeth in 1953, infant granddaughter Catherine Marjorie Chapman in 1965 and brothers Clarence, Edgar, Fred, Meddie, Aurele and two in infancy and sisters Yvonne and Agnes. Her remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst,
(667-9906) with visitation on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery in the spring.
