Nellie Edrie Conrod DARTMOUTH, NS - Nellie Edrie Conrod passed away April 5, 2004, in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Ella A. (Prescott) Conrod. Nellie was raised in Dartmouth. Following high school she attended the Maritime Business College and then began her business career in Halifax with The Economical Mutual Insurance Company. Shortly after she transferred to Moncton, NB, where she continued to work for The Economical Mutual Insurance Co. until her retirement. While in Moncton, she attended St. John's United Church and was active in the choir. She was also a member of the Bonar Law Chapter I.O.D.E. Upon retirement Nellie returned to the family home in Dartmouth, reestablishing her membership with Grace United Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She had a keen interest in her eight nieces and nephews all of whom fondly remember her. She was predeceased by sisters, Alice, Anna, Isabel (Mrs. Chester Rafuse) and Jean (Mrs. Victor Hiltz); brothers, Stuart, Laurie and infant brother, John Laurie. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2004 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth with Rev. Stephen Fram officiating. Interment in Park Avenue Cemetery.
