Irma MacNair of Chaleur Street

Irma MacNair CHARLO, NB - The death of Irma MacNair of Chaleur Street, Charlo occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dalhousie on March 31, 2004 at the age of 72. Born in Eel River Crossing on August 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William Burris and the late Maria Despontin. She is survived by her husband, Chester MacNair of Charlo; daughters, Sharon Hocquard (Charles) of Victoria, BC, and Sandra MacNair of Dalhousie, NB; son, Gordon MacNair (Karen) of Quispamsis, NB; sisters, Simonne (Walter) Stensch of Montreal, Irene (Wilfred) Poirier of Charlo, NB, Carole (Art) Burden of Newfoundland and brother, Arnold (Elsie) Burris of Eel River Crossing, NB. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Stephen (Tammy) Hocquard of Vancouver, BC, Kevin (Nina) Hocquard of Quispamsis, NB, Carolyn Hocquard of Victoria, BC, Christopher (Tanya) MacNair of Saint John, NB and Karen (Mike) MacNair Trecartin of Saint John, NB; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Madison and Julia MacNair, Sean, William and Nicholas Trecartin and Leah and Alec Hocquard. The funeral was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel in Dalhousie on Saturday, April 3, 2004 with Rev. Roland Hutchinson officiating. Active pallbearers included Allan Poirier, Ronald Burris, Wayne MacNair and Ken McAllister. A reception was held in the St. John United Church Hall following the service. Internment will be in the Dalhousie Cemetery Extension, New Mills at a later date. Numerous floral tributes and memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society, Huntington's Society and the Cemetery Fund were received.
