Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Somers, wife of Cleveland Some Tuesday
Mary Elizabeth Somers MATTHEWS SETTLEMENT, NB - The death of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Somers, wife of Cleveland Somers of Matthews Settlement, NB occurred on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 79. Born in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Eunice (Brown) O'Hearn. Besides her husband, Mary is survived by three daughters, Penelope Somers of Cassillis, NB, Lucinda Irving (Glendon) of Moncton, NB, Rosemary Hamilton (Sterling) of Halcomb, NB; one son, Murray of Vancouver, BC; one brother, Patrick O'Hearn of Weldfield, NB; four granddaughters, Cindy and Kimberly Irving and Sheila and Michelle Hamilton; one great grandson, Branden Irving and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one sister, Theresa; two brothers, Louis and Joseph; and one adopted brother, James. The family will receive visitors at Meadows Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service was held from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Colin Holmes officiating assisted by Father Stan Paulin. Organist was Cindy Taylor, Soloist was Shannon Linkletter, "The Unclouded Day" Congregational Hymns were: "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden". Special Reading by Granddaughter: Cindy Irving. Active pallbearers were: Donnie Dunn, David Stewart, Donald O'Hearn, Patrick O'Hearn Jr., Adam Kenny and Danny Somers. Honorary Pallbearers were: Frank Somers, Don Hamilton, Milton Stewart and Harold Somers. The burial will take place in the Back Road Cemetery later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the NB Diabetic Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
