Marion Downey 1912-2004 Marion Downey, 92, widow of Bliss N. Downey and formerly of Golden Terraces and was presently living at Briarlea Residence in Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, April 28, 2004. Born in Mountville, Albert Co., NB. She was the daughter of the late Watson and Georgie (Curry) Dixson. She was employed with Co-operators Insurance until her retirement. She is a member of Wesley Memorial United Church and a member of the Wesley Memorial UCW and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Marion loved quilting, knitting, crocheting and reading. She is survived by one son, Allan and his wife Nora Downey of Moncton; one daughter, Esther and her husand Dr. Kenneth Sanborn of Hawaii; four grandchildren, Kira (Kevin), Krista (Peter), Raymond (Rebecca) and Michelle (deceased) Steve; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Laura McLaughlin (Richard) of Riverview and Martha Mosher of Moncton; two brothers, John Dixson (Marie) and Herbert Dixson (Viva) all of Moncton; also by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Bliss N. Downey in 1993; granddaughter, Michelle; and by brothers, Warren and George. Visitation is at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, Lutz Street on Sunday, May 2, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 3, 2004 at 11:00 am with Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations made to Memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
