Peacefully at the Beach Grove Home on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, of Mrs. Frances Aline (Fran) Duffy, formerly of Highland Avenue, Charlottetown, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Duffy. Cherished mother of Mike (Phyllis), Rosemary "Roady" MacCallum, Valerie Duffy, Bill (Janice), David (Wendy), and mother-in-law of Corinne Duffy. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Alana, Lori-Anne, Shawn, Liza, Katie, Jillian, Rebecca and Madeline; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Gordon (Doreen) Kelly; and her sister, Grace Kelly. Besides her husband, Jack, she was predeceased by her son, Jim and her brother, Russell. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 on Friday morning, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to take place later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Catholic Women’s League will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Society of P.E.I. or the Meadow Courtyard Project of the Beach Grove Home.
