Elizabeth "Bessie" Amelia Flewelling of Thursday
Elizabeth Amelia Flewelling DOUGLAS, NB - The death of Elizabeth "Bessie" Amelia Flewelling of Douglas occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 13, 2004. Born in Stanley, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lillian (Sands) Flewelling. Elizabeth was a retired registered nursing assistant, and was a member of the ACW and lifetime member of the Ward Settlement Woman's Institute. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and anything to do with needlework. Elizabeth is survived by her brother Sam Flewelling of Gagetown; sisters, Edith Coy of Fredericton, Fannie Thomas of Stanley and Amy Savage of Stanley; brother-in-law, Lloyd MacLaggan of Nashwaak Bridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Lloyd Flewelling and sisters, Freda Thomas and Ethel MacLaggan. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on May 16 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 2 PM from the St. Thomas Anglican Church in Stanley. Rev. Ranall Ingalls will officiate with Ian Wetmore assisting. Interment will be held in the St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service are nephews, Leigh Savage, Laurie Savage, Sandy Savage, Walter Coy, Charles (Chuck) Flewelling and John Staples.
