John S. Mellish

John S. Mellish 1930 - 2004 After a lengthy illness, John S. Mellish passed away peacefully Friday May 21, 2004 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Havelock, N.B., he was a son of the late Charles and Lena (Blakney) Mellish and husband to his beloved wife of 50 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Stuart) Mellish. John was a carpenter and general contractor in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved the outdoors, and spent many days at his woodlot and camp in Elgin. His greatest love and and his most treasured accomplishment was his family. Family meant everything to John and he will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his wife Betty, he is survived by his six children; Sheilah Mellish (Ken Robinson) Doaktown, NB., Ron (Kathy) Mellish, Little River, NB., Cathy (Kevin) Taylor, Rothesay, NB., Keith Mellish, Parkindale, NB., Paul Mellish (Noella Bourque) , Boundary Creek, NB., and Dean (Nadine) Mellish, Colpitts Settlement, NB., his brother Bill (Pearl) Mellish, Riverview,NB., his Grandchildren Jason, Trudy Beth, Ashley, Jesse, Megan, Jillian, Brady, Heather, and Ryan, his special Aunt Mae Wood, Saint John, NB., and many neices, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers George and David and his sister Doris. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (8523530) with visitation Saturday 7 to 9 pm and a Memorial Service Sunday May 23, 2004 in Fairhaven Funeral Home Chapel at 3 pm. Reception to follow in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
