It is with great sadness that the family of Frances "Duce" Mary Dunlop age 84 announces her passing on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Gables Lodge, Amherst, with her loving family by her side. Born on August 7, 1924 in Chignecto, NS, she was a daughter of the late John Sr. and Edwina (McLellan) Collins. In her younger years Frances played Hockey and won the Women's Nova Scotia Championship and also enjoyed curling, bowling and bingo. She was a huge fan of Wayne Gretzky and Russ Howard. Frances was known for her wonderful baking that she shared with her friends and family. Duce will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son, Robert (Janice) Collins of Maccan; six daughters, Darlene (Romeo) LeBlanc of Riverview, NB, Sylvia (John) Kempt of Nappan, Debbie (Bill) Rolfe of Maccan, Wanda (Larry) Fullerton of River Hebert, Theresa (Peter) Melanson of Maccan and Jeannie
(Jamie) Brown of Maccan; her sister, Alice Dwyer of Maccan; twelve grandchildren, Tony, Nick, Jeff, Jamie, Monique, Patricia, Sherry, Robbie, Angie, Jackie, Tina and Justin; 17 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gilbert Arseneau, second husband Harry Dunlop, as well as her three grandchildren; her brothers, Laurie and John Jr. Resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting hours on Friday, February 27, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Patti Blundell officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Maccan Cemetery.
