Maria Edith Cormier 1937 - 2004 CAP-PELÉ, NB - Maria Édith Cormier, 66, widow of the late Reginald Cormier, of Cap-Pelé passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital, Moncton after a lengthy illness. Born in Cap-Pelé, August 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ovila Niles and the late Berthe Thériault. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Westmorland Fisheries. She was a member of la Légion de Marie, les Dames de Ste. Anne, the liturgy and charismatic committees and the Golden Age Club of Cap-Pelé. She was also a sacristine with the Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Parish, a member of the pastoral care committee and a member of the parish council and a volunteer in the community. Maria will be sadly missed by her loving family, three daughters, Bernadine LeBlanc (Ola), Barbara Jacob (Roland) and Noëlla Boudreau (André) all of Cap-Pelé; two sons, Pierre (Monique) of Shediac, Victor (Sylvie) of Cap-Pelé; a sister, Dorothé Cormier (Roy) of CapPelé; four brothers, Eugène Niles (Francine) of Saint-André, Roy Niles (Avis) of Moncton, Hubert Niles (Gaetane) of Miramichi, Françis Niles (Bernice) of Robichaud; 11 grandchildren, Nadia, Denis, Mélanie, Christine, Sophie, Isabelle, Monique, Julie, Réjean, Nicole, Renée, several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Réginald in 1979. Resting at funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) with visiting hours on Saturday from 7 to 9p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Monday from 10a.m. until time of departure at 10:50a.m. The funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2004 at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church in Cap-Pelé. Interment in the parish cemetery. A woman of great faith, she made a great deal of friends with her numerous pilgrimages to Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré .
