Rosanna Poirier
Rosanna Poirier 1914 - 2004 GRAND-DIGUE, NB - Rosanna Poirier, 90, of the Residence Beau Séjour in Shediac and formerly of GrandeDigue, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital, Moncton. Born in Grande-Digue, July 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Willie Poirier and the late Annie LeBlanc. She was a school teacher for 43 years having taught in Shediac Bridge, GrandeDigue, Bourgeois Office, Poirier Office, Ste. Marie and Cocagne area until she retired in 1977. She was a member of the S.E.R.F. and was the recipient of the "Prix de Mérite S.E.R.F." in 1988. She was also a member of la Légion de Marie, les dames de Ste. Anne and the Golden Age Club in Grande-Digue. She is survived by an adopted son, Claude Cormier (Gloria) of Cocagne; a sister, Exelia Cormier of Dieppe; a brother, Albert of Shediac Bridge and by three grand-nephews, Michel, Roland and Daniel. She was predeceased by four sisters, Béatrice, Marie, Diana, Lina and by two brothers, Amand and Arthur. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visiting hours on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of departure at 9:40 a.m. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in GrandeDigue.
